# Only 48% of GEO tools track Google's AI Overviews — but 68% track Perplexity
Of the 44 software products in this dataset, 34 monitor ChatGPT (77%) and 30 monitor Perplexity (68%), while only 21 monitor AI Overviews (48%) and 14 monitor Google's AI Mode (32%). The category measures the chatbots and largely skips the AI surface sitting inside the search engine most people still use every day.
# 20% of GEO software publishes no price at all
9 of 44 software products show no number — pricing is "custom" or "contact sales". For the 14 of 20 agencies that do the same, that is normal project work; for self-serve software it means a buyer cannot compare the category without booking sales calls.

Across the 27 software products that publish a number, the lowest advertised tier runs from $1 to $800 a month, median $79. 18 products (41%) offer a free or freemium tier, so most of the category cannot be tried without paying.

Methodology & limits
Every figure here is computed from the Geodeck listing data at build time — no number on this page is typed by hand. The dataset covers 64 entries: 44 software products and 20 agencies.
What we measure: pricing as published on the vendor's own pricing page, engine coverage as claimed on vendor marketing or documentation, headquarters as stated publicly.
What this is not: we do not test the products, so engine coverage reflects vendor claims rather than verified accuracy. Prices change often, and regional or annual-billing discounts are ignored — we record the lowest advertised monthly tier. Only 27 of 44 software products publish a usable number, so the median comes from that subset and should be read as an order of magnitude, not a market average.
Selection bias: this is a curated directory, not a census. It skews toward products with a public English-language web presence. Vendors may submit themselves, but submission buys neither inclusion nor placement.

How were these tools selected?
Every entry in the Geodeck directory is included — 44 software products and 20 agencies. Listings are added by manual curation and by vendor submission, and every one is checked by hand before it goes live. Nothing is included, excluded or ranked in exchange for payment.
How is engine coverage counted?
A product counts as covering an engine if that engine is named on the vendor's own marketing or documentation pages. We do not test the products, so this measures what vendors claim, not verified accuracy. Agencies are excluded from the engine table because they ship no monitoring surface of their own.
Why are agencies separated from software?
Agencies quote per project, so counting their custom pricing against price transparency would be misleading. Every pricing figure on this page covers software only; the agency numbers are reported separately.
Can I cite or reuse this data?
Yes, including commercially, with attribution to https://geodeck.io/data/. The full dataset is published as CSV and JSON. If you need a cut we do not publish, email [email protected] and we will run it.
How often is it updated?
The page is recomputed from the underlying directory data on every site build, so the figures move as listings are added, corrected or removed. The date at the top is the last regeneration.
